My Core Values: Nature

Nature is ine of my core values that connects me to my center and anchors me back home to my body + self.

On a deeper level, nature connects me to cyclical living which has allowed me to embrace the different seasons of nature and life. I'll admit, while I'm not a winter person per se, I've learned to embrace the four seasons of New England, and appreciate winter as time of slowing down, reflection, and all things cozy like hearty stews packed with grounding winter root veggies.

Nature has also connected me to the phases of my menstrual cycle, which has given me a deeper appreciation and understanding of my body -- highly recommend reading the book Womancode. Instead of fighting against certain times of the month, I now understand the mental, physical, and emotional shifts throughout the month which empowers to work in partnership with my body. More specifically, this connection has taught me to honor times of rest which is something that I find SUPER challenging at times.

Because nature is something I highly value, I make it a point to spend time outside every. single. day. Even if it requires a little extra motivation and piling on all the layers. Whether it's a road run, trail walk with the pups, the beach, outdoor dining, or catching a wild winter sunset like this, it's an important part of my daily routine that connects me to my center.
