5 Rituals To Honor The Spring Season
Spring symbolically represents a time to celebrate new beginnings – rebirth, awakening, coming out from hibernation, fertility, and most of all balance since the spring equinox represents a day where day and night are both equal in length.
So today I'm sharing 5 simple ways to embrace the transition into spring.
1. Spring Cleaning. Spring is the perfect time to cleanse your body, mind, emotions and your home. Ask yourself, what is it you no longer need? What old beliefs, emotional ties and stories are holding you back in life? How can you make better choices when it comes to maintaining optimal health when it comes to food? This is great time to do things like clean out your pantry and donate foods that have expired and that don’t support your wellness goals, clear the clutter from your wallet, paper piles on desk and donate old clothes.
2. Start Over Again. A quarter of the year has gone by and perhaps your resolutions or intentions for the new year have fallen off the bandwagon as well. Spring symbolically represents a chance to begin again. Take the time to celebrate your accomplishments – both big and small, and also re-evaluate your goals for the year. Ask yourself when it comes to your goals and intentions, where did you hope to be by March? What hasn’t worked out and what can you change to move forward reach your goals?
3. Set Intentions. The spring season brings with it fertile energy and growth making it the perfect time to grow your ideas, dreams and hopes. There’s something to be said with the quote, “energy flows where attention goes,” so hone in on this and decide which types of seeds you wish to plant. You can also create 2-4 affirmations and repeat them on a daily basis, making sure they are in the present tense and contain a positive outcome that you wish to happen.
4. Find balance. The equinox represents the day when day and night are of equal length, so this is a great time to evaluate whether you are in balance as nature is. Ask yourself, how is your work-life balance? How are you prioritizing your energy? Are you setting boundaries to honor that energy? Are you prioritizing your needs – because remember you can’t pour from an empty cup. Spring represents an opportunity to be honest with yourself so that you can create the life you wish to live.
5. Re-awaken. Get ready to shake off the sluggishness from winter with the warmer weather and extra daylight. Spring represent an opportunity to tune into the change in seasons and enjoy this sense of awakening, physically and emotionally. It’s time to come out of hibernation and shine your light into the universe.
