Blueberry smoothie! Today I’m sharing a quick, simple, and well-balanced breakfast or snack to keep your blood sugar levels stable and hormones happy! 💜

Did you know that managing your blood sugar level is an essential part of hormonal health and your overall wellbeing — especially for energy and weight loss? I’ve been extra aware of balancing blood sugar during pregnancy (and also prior to this when healing my hormones) because if I don’t, the hangry beast mode takes over accompanied by nausea, and lets just ain’t nobody got time for that.

So well-balanced snacks like smoothies, bone broth, sliced fruit and nuts, and my current favorite ants on a log it is.


INGREDIENTS:

  • 1/2 cup frozen blueberries

  • 1/2 cup plain yogurt (probiotics, I used Siggi’s whole milk) or almond milk (enough to blend, Malk Organic is a favorite)

  • 1 tsp chia seeds

  • 1/3 cup frozen cauliflower + 1 date OR 1/2 frozen banana

  • 1 inch slice ginger (aids digestion)

  • dash of cinnamon

  • 1-2 scoops collagen (or protein powder)

INSTRUCTIONS:

Combine all ingredients and blend until smooth. Pour in a bowl and add your favorite toppings like shredded coconut, hemp or chia seeds, and blueberries.
