My Core Values: Joy

Joy in nature.jpeg

JOY. Joy is one of my core moon values that anchors me to my center. It’s the simple pleasures in every day life and the things that feed my soul, like the joy in spending time in nature.

These past 12 months have been quite a roller coaster ride and there’s no doubt that many layers of our lives like travel, social gatherings, etc have been stripped away. So if there is one big lesson that I’ve personally learned it’s the importance of connecting with the simple joys from every day life.

This trail is one that I probably wouldn’t have stumbled upon if it weren’t for the pandemic and a trail running friend of mine a few months ago. Funny how the pandemic has forced some of us to explore more locally. Anyways, this trial is literally right down the street from my house, and one that I’ve driven or run by a million times, but never thought to explore. And let me just tell you it is breathtaking even on a gray day in the middle of winter.

So you can bet this trail brings me a lot of joy and feeds my soul. And to top it off, it’s a bonus that I get to explore these trials with the pups who bring even more joy, sniffing everything in sight and doing summersaults in puddles.

What’s one simple joy from your week so far?
