How to Ground Your Energy in Less than 5 Minutes

It’s been a wild 12 months, so today I’m sharing a simple practice to ground your energy and reconnect with your body in less than 5 minutes. It’s a simple and effective way that I’ve found extremely helpful for times when I’m feeling anxious, stressed, doubtful, overwhelmed, and so forth.

To do, simple place one hand on your belly, one hand on your heart and repeat: I am grounded. I am supported. I am safe.

When the world feels heavy and like it’s moving too fast, take a moment to pause. Either standing, sitting, or laying down gently place one hand on your belly, one hand on your heart — this placement of the hands brings feelings of safety and security.

Tune into your body and sensations. Become a witness of your breath. Begin to focus more awareness on your exhalations. And repeat to yourself: I am grounded. I am supported. I am safe.

This is one of my favorite simple practices to ground and root my energy when I feel like too much energy is up in my head — which is likely the case for many of you, causing you to feel stressed, anxious, scattered, or overwhelmed. And I can promise that it’s well worth that little investment of time and energy for a quick reset to ground and anchor you back home to your body and self.
