Chocolate Covered Strawberry Oats
Chocolate covered strawberry oats are a sweet way to kick off the week, thank you BERRY much! I’ve been loving fresh strawberries lately if you haven’t noticed on my instagram account. They are so sweet, juicy and fresh this time of year, and are packed with fiber, vitamin C, and antioxidants not to mention the health benefits below:
Improve immune system ~ vitamin C.
Regulate blood sugar ~ low on glycemic index.
Help regulate mood ~ seeds contain the omega-3 fatty acid alpha-linolenic acid, which has been proven to improve mood.
Alleviate allergy symptoms ~ contain a special anti-allergy flavonoid called fisetin, which helps the body’s immune cells control inflammatory reactions to allergens.
Promote skin vitality ~ vitamin C is used by the body to produce collagen, a protein essential to skin health.
Fact: Strawberries are also one of the most heavily sprayed fruits (on the dirty dozen produce list), so consider buying organic to limit your exposure to pesticides.
